The String Cheese Incident’s Keith Moseley Joins ALO In Boulder

ALO celebrated the release of their new album, Frames, this past weekend with a pair of concerts in Colorado. The quartet welcomed The String Cheese Incident bassist Keith Moseley to sit-in on old favorite “Falling Dominoes” during the Saturday night show at Boulder’s Fox Theatre.
ALO — guitarist Lebo (Dan Lebowitz), bassist Steve Adams, keyboardist Zach Gill and drummer Ezra Lipp — kicked off the run on release day on Friday at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver. After opening with the Cris Jacobs Band, Cris Jacobs joined ALO on Michael McDonald’s “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)” during the second set at Cervantes. Additionally, ALO brought out a two-piece horn section for “Try,” “Undertow” and “Lady Loop” to end their first set.

The California-based band began Saturday’s show in Boulder with the beloved “Girl, I Wanna Lay You Down.” ALO then looked to 2023’s Silver Saturdays for “Rewind” ahead of the classic “Cowboys and Chorus Girls.” From there, Lipp led the band through Frames standout “You May Not Get It All.”
ALO’s Boulder show rolled on with Lebo introducing old pal Keith Moseley. The SCI bassist and local resident handled the bottom end while Steve Adams went full frontman on “Falling Dominoes.” Adams returned to his regular spot as the five-piece capped the first set with a run of “Sugar On Your Tongue,” “Space Between Frames” and “The Ticket.”
Frames was the focus early in the second set as the new album’s “Hey Hello (Tale Of The Twist & Shout)” and “Warmth Of The Night” were broken up by fan-favorite “Maria.” Zach Gill then fronted a “Waiting For Jaden” that bled into “The Rain.” ALO paired “Wasting Time (Isla Vista Song)” and “Room For Bloomin'” to punctuate the closing stanza. Fittingly, “Goodnight Song” served as encore.
