Alex Warren was the musical guest on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The pop star performed “Cry Wolf” from his 2026 album, Wildchild.
Following the release of his 2025 debut full-length album You’ll Be Alright, Kid, Warren has continued his success in 2026. The singer-songwriter was nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy and quickly followed up on Alright, Kid with Wildchild, released on August 28 via Atlantic.
The album includes the singles “Passenger” and “Rescuer.” Warren chose a deeper cut for his Tonight Show appearance, performing “Cry Wolf.”
“That song became like a Frankenstein of the last five years of my life,” Warren revealed of “Cry Wolf” on the Off The Record podcast. “My wife and I are the type of people who don’t do the whole conflict thing. We run away from it, or we get stomped on, and then we walk away. I’m not a confrontational person, so I wanted to be a confrontational person in a song, and almost take control that way.
“The next day, I go into the studio, and I start writing ‘Cry Wolf,’ and it was just this, like, ‘What if I was like, fuck you?’ [laughs]. And so it’s cool because making that song makes me, now, not a confrontational person, but I say how I feel now, and I set boundaries, which is something I never did.”
