Alex G Loads ‘Live From Union Transfer’ Album With ‘God Save The Animals’ Gems

The limited edition vinyl-only release documents Fall 2022 concerts in the guitarist/songwriter’s hometown of Philadelphia.

Alex G (Alex Giannascoli) will issue a new album, Live From Union Transfer, on June 30 via Domino. The limited edition vinyl-only release documents the singer-songwriter’s hometown concerts at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer in November 2022.

Guitarist Alex G and his longtime touring band — bassist John Heywood, guitarist/keyboardist Sam Acchione, drummer Tom Kelly and violinist/keyboardist Molly Germer — wrapped their 2022 Fall Tour with a three-night run at Union Transfer in Philadelphia November 18 – 20. Live From Union Transfer boasts 14 tracks from the hometown stand including most of Alex G’s 2022 album, God Save The Animals.

Alex G’s latest studio LP arrived on September 23, 2022. Live From Union Transfer contains 11 of the album’s 13 tracks including all four advance singles “Cross The Sea,” “Blessing,” “Runner” and “Miracles.” The singer-songwriter also included deeper cuts “Headroom Piano,” “S.D.O.S.,” “Mission,” “No Bitterness,” “Ain’t It Easy,” “Early Morning Waiting” and “Forgive” along with additional favorites from his catalog like “After Ur Gone” and “Gretel.”
