Watch Alex G Bring ‘Afterlife’ To Life On ‘Colbert’
The song comes from the just-released Headlights album.

Top-rated late-night television program The Late Show With Stephen Colbert welcomed Alex G as the musical guest on Thursday’s episode. The appearance at The Ed Sullivan Theater featured a performance of “Afterlife” from the just-released album, Headlights.
The week-old album arrived on July 18 via RCA Records, marking Alex G’s major label debut. Headlights is Alex G’s 10th album, which he co-produced with longtime collaborator, Unknown Mortal Orchestra bassist Jacob Portrait.
“Afterlife” served as the lead single off the follow-up to the 2022 LP, God Save The Animals, and 2024 score for the film I Saw The TV Glow.
Alex G takes the stage today at the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island. See the performance last night on The Late Show below:
