Abraham Alexander & Adrian Quesada Perform Oscar-Nominated Song ‘Like A Bird’ On ‘Kimmel’

Abraham Alexander and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada appeared as musical guests on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The pair of Texas natives performed their original song, “Like A Bird,” which is currently nominated for an Academy Award.

Alexander and Quesada co-wrote and recorded “Like A Bird” for the Greg Kwedar-directed feature film, Sing Sing. The song is currently nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Song, which will be revealed on March 2 at the 97th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

“Like A Bird” is competing against fellow nominees including two songs from the film Emilia Pérez, a song from The Six Triple Eight and a song from Elton John: Never Too Late.

Sing Sing is based on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison in Ossining, New York. The film stars Colman Domingo, who is nominated for the Best Actor Oscar.
