Third Man Records mastermind Jack White turns 40 today. The Detroit native first achieved major success after The White Stripes, his duo with Meg White, released White Blood Cells in 2001 and went on to put out such acclaimed records as Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump before the band broke up in 2011. Jack was never a one-project man and has formed a number of bands over the years including The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs as well as led a handful of solo bands in support of his first two solo albums. He’s even found time to start his own record label, Third Man Records, and has produced many of his own albums as well as those from other artists.

Jack White formed The Raconteurs in 2005 with Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler. The hard rocking supergroup went on to issue two albums, the most recent of which –Consolers Of The Lonely -came out in 2008. In June of 2008, The Raconteurs headed across the Atlantic for a tour that included a performance filmed for MTV’s The Eden Sessions at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England on June 29.

The Raconteurs’ Eden Sessions broadcast is among the only professionally-shot footage of the quartet to circulate and shows off the band at the peak of their powers. Jack, Brendan, Patrick and Jack mixed the best tunes from their 2006 debut Broken Boy Soldiers with the standout material from Consolers Of The Lonely at Cornwall.
