Wilco recently announced a handful of shows in celebration of their 20th anniversary and we were surprised to see the band’s hometown of Chicago ignored. It turns out Jeff Tweedy and Co. will play Chicago after all as this morning WXRT DJ Lin Brehmer revealed Wilco will play a whopping six shows in The Windy City this December.

Wilco’s Chicago performances will take place at The Riviera Theatre on December 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12. The concerts are this year’s XRT Holiday Concerts For The Kids and have been dubbed the “Wilco Winterlude.” According to Brehmer, Wilco will change up the setlist each night and present material spanning their 20-year career. In keeping with the Holiday Concerts For The Kids theme, those attending are asked to bring a new toy or book that will be given to kids at Chicago area children’s hospitals. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, October 17 at 10 a.m. CT via Jamusa.com.

In case you missed it, yesterday we reported on the soon-to-be-released Wilco Alpha Mike Foxtrot: Rare Tracks 1994 -2014 rarities compilation which is due next month along with a greatest hits collection.
