Neil Young Debuts Three New Songs In Boston

Last night Neil Young played his first of two solo shows at Citi Performing Arts Center/Wang Theatre in Boston, where he mixed classics from throughout his career with a handful of his new songs.

Young broke his two-hour performance into two sets with a brief intermission between the sets. Towards the middle of the first set Neil debuted a song fans are calling “I’m Glad I Found U,” while the second set contained the first-ever performances of what’s being referred to as “Plastic Flowers” and “Trace My Tears.” For the encore, Neil Young treated the capacity crowd to his latest protest song -“Who’s Gonna Stand Up?” Since we’re still awaiting a tracklist for Neil Young’s Storeytone LP, which is due in November, there’s no word if any or all of the debuts will be featured on the album.

Here’s a look at the setlist via Sugar Mountain:

Set One: From Hank To Hendrix / You And Me / Only Love Can Break Your Heart / Love In Mind / I’m Glad I Found U / Mellow My Mind / Reason to Believe / Someday / Changes / Harvest / Old Man

Set Two: Pocahontas / Thrasher / New Song 2 -?Plastic Flowers? / A Man Needs A Maid / Ohio / Southern Man / Mr. Soul / If You Could Read My Mind / New Song 3 -?Trace My Tears? / Harvest Moon / After The Gold Rush

Encore: Who’s Gonna Stand Up?

Neil Young returns to Boston’s Wang Theatre tonight.
