Kreutzmann, Hart & Salken Guest With Disco Biscuits

By Scott Bernstein Aug 1, 2014 6:20 am PDT

On Saturday night The Disco Biscuits are set to perform at Gathering Of The Vibes with Grateful Dead drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, but the jamtronica pioneers couldn’t wait to start playing with The Rhythm Devils. Mickey and Bill sat in for the duration of the Biscuits’ second set and encore at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. last night.

The second set featured a mix of Grateful Dead classics “West L.A. Fadeaway,” “Shakedown Street” and “Eyes Of The World” mixed with tDB originals “M.E.M.P.H.I.S.” and “Caterpillar” as well as a debut cover of James Brown’s “I Don’t Want Nobody To Give Me Nothing.” When the Biscuits and The Rhythm Devils returned for the encore, they were joined by Big Gigantic drummer Jeremy Salken for a rendition of “I Know You Rider.”

The Disco Biscuits return to the 9:30 Club tomorrow night and a stream of the show is available via a Nugs.TV webcast.
