Dave Matthews Band Reunites With Lovely Ladies In Mansfield

From 1998 -2001, many Dave Matthews Band performances saw the group backed by a trio of female vocalists referred to as “The Lovely Ladies.” Two of the original Lovely Ladies, Tawatha Agee and Cindy Mizelle, teamed with newcomer Sharon Bryant to perform with the DMB for part of their electric second set at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA on Saturday night, marking the vocalists return for the first time since August 28, 2001.

The Lovely Ladies emerged to help the crowd sing the “#36” refrain of “Hani, Hani, come and dance with me” and then stuck around for performances of “Long Black Veil,” “You & Me” and “Stay (Wasting Time).” “Long Black Veil” hadn’t been performed since July 27, 2013 -a span of 29 shows. According to a tweet from DMB violinist Boyd Tinsley, we can expect more ovely Ladies appearances during the group’s current tour:
