Gregg Allman Tribute To Be Filmed For Distribution

In just a few short months an impressive lineup of musicians will gather at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on January 10 to honor Gregg Allman. The Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Sam Moore, Taj Mahal and Warren Haynes are just a few of the acts taking part in All My Friends: A Tribute To Gregg Allman.

Tickets for the event sold out immediately, but for those who can’t attend we’ve got some good news. This morning an interview with Gregg was posted by Access Atlanta with a juicy tidbit of note. The event “will be filmed for multi-platform distribution” by a team led by Keith Wortman. Wortman put together the Love For Levon: A Benefit To Save The Barn feature that aired on cable and was released in a variety of video formats. We’d expect the same for All My Friends.

Allman also expressed his enthusiasm for returning to The Fox, “We played the Fox a couple of times over the years to keep it from getting torn down,” he told Access Atlanta. “You know, people rise up in Atlanta. People love that place and they should. It’s so perfectly tuned. It’s a magical place.”
