Blues & Lasers :: 01.17.09 :: Sullivan Hall :: New York, NY

Blues and Lasers recently made their NYC headlining debut at Sullivan Hall. The band features three members of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals; Scott Tournet (guitar & vocals), Matt Burr (drums) and Bryan Dondero (bass) as well as Benny Yurco (guitar & vocals) and Steve Sharon (drums). The band played straight ahead rock 'n' roll in the style of early 70's Rolling Stones. "We wanted something heavier, bluesier, and riskier," states Tournet. "The force of Led Zeppelin, the swampy groove of the Delta blues, the guitars of the late 60's and 70's, juxtaposed with the sounds of our generation... like blips and bleeps and weird noises and feedback swirling around." The crowd at Sullivan Hall loved them and I'm looking forward to seeing them again very soon.

Scott Tournet is one of the hottest guitar players out there today ...

Interesting side note ... The hot chick posing with Grace Potter is Brandi, Eric Krasno's girlfriend

Scott is great, and a real nice guy as well.

Grace & Brandi - Let me ponder that one for awhile...

What up KR? Hope to get the Nick shirts out next Monday.

Saw them open for Grace in State College, PA a few weeks ago. Really blew me away. Straight up rock & blues. Definitely gonna see big things out of them very soon.

This was such a great show! I think they'll be back at the club sometime this spring. April maybe.

Grace Potter was there but didn't sit in. I guess she was just supporting which is cool.

Just to spread the word, if you do like blues and lasers, you should also check out Foster McGinty. blues, classic rock, funk. Elements of Clapton and Hendrix and NYC.
