The Bridge Winter Tour

The Bridge
The Bridge set out this month on a 30-city tour that stretches through the end of February. The band begins with dates in the mid-Atlantic region before heading south for shows in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas, followed by a full run up the West Coast to Washington before winding down in Colorado. The Bridge is touring behind Blind Man's Hill, their brand new album on Hyena Records. The 12-track collection hit number seven last week on the Americana Radio chart, and the six-piece unit is coming off a sold out New Year's Eve show with the Rebirth Brass Band in Baltimore.

After playing numerous summer festivals last year, as well as dates with Mike Gordon, Little Feat and Dark Star Orchestra, The Bridge have a growing word-of-mouth buzz stemming from their incendiary live performances. But, while The Bridge's sets are often laced with fierce improvisations that touch on numerous corners of American roots music, it's the songwriting of founding members Cris Jacobs and Kenny Liner, resonating with odes to honeybees, poison wine and rambling life, that is the cornerstone to their antique charm.

these guys are frikking great!! They played in front of like 10,000 people at last summer's All Good - and Mike Gordon sat in with them and THEN had them tour with him and open for his band....Quite a hefty endorsement for a growing band.

Catch these guys live - they're amazing...Wait until you hear Kenny beat-box!!

Now, dammit, come to Ohio!

Why no AZ love? They are literally passing right through it. 3 days off! How will I know if I like them if they pass up my town?

If they want to book somewhere good in the Tempe/Phoenix area, Goat Head Saloon or better yet, THE SAIL INN.

Two years ago at AmJam I had already headed back to my tent to relax for the rest of the night after Franti finished a really long set that pushed these guys back and pissed them off. I had no intention of coming back from the tent but herd the most electrifying music coming from them, a funky beat with a banjo and beatbox all kickin at once, so I had to venture back out. Once I got there I boogied down with these guys for the rest of their set. If you get the chance, go see 'em...highly recommended!

These guys are simply the best band to form within the last 10 years. They are an original sound that is very refreshing. The talent of this band can drive them to perform anything they choose with elegance and grace. I expect nothing but the best things for this band in the years to come. I want them to get big, but not too big. The energy of these guys is just so pure and sweet. Think 1970 grateful dead sweetness mixed with some funk, the blues, and of course beat-box. crazy what happens when you put so many diverse talents in a blender.
