JFJO East Coast Tour

Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey East Coast Tour Starts Today - June 17

JFJO
Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey is coming to the East and Midwest in June to celebrate the release of their new album, Lil Tae Rides Again. For the entirety of the tour the trio will once again be accompanied onstage by Pete Tomshany on guitar to help re-create the lush sonic tapestries found on the new album. Prepare for sensory overload as JFJO further envelops the evening in Lil Tae by enlisting VJ Golden Child to present projections every night. In addition, JFJO is thrilled to announce that they will be joined on tour by their good friends Dorian Small, who will be playing a short introductory set just before JFJO takes the stage every night. Hailing from Norman, OK, the group are the purveyors of some of JFJO's favorite music.

^Well he should be. He should take care of business with JFJO rather than that hackfest TLG....JFJO kicks their ass

^ No need to disparage TLG there, sonny, I'm sure Reed didn't join them because he thought they were "hacks". I bet his thinking was more along the lines off hmm I can play with some "talented artists who play fun music and have a growing fanbase".

How is your music career going jimmyrow420? Still hacking away or too busy hitting the bong?

Damn, they are playing the Lakeshore Theatre. That venue has the worst sound I've ever heard. I think I might just have to go anyways.

Mathis will be on all of these dates, for he is an intricate member of this band. I cant believe you fools compare JFJO to tea leaf. Completely different entities here yo... personally JFJO have take me there, as they always have seeing they have been on the jazz circuit for years. TLG sort of bores me, but completely different hemispheres here... With that said, Mathis knows where the true talent and other worldly experimentation lay... with the FRED

Reed's #1 priority is touring w/ The Fred. He is basically an animal and doesnt stop playing music somewhere...Tea Leaf is just his thing to do when hes not involved with The Fred...that said, Tea Leaf is completely different than JFJO, and shouldnt be compared to them...tea leaf is one of the up and coming jam bands though, and Mathis takes them to a new level...I just hope they fricking come back to KANSAS soon... (JFJO that is...)Jesus titty f'ing.....its been almost 4 years since they were here, wtf? two iowa dates, all over oklahoma, nebraska and illinois, but no Kansas? cmon jfjo......

Funny. Tea Leaf Green is BETTER than JFJO. JFJO is BETTER than Tea Leaf Green. They are both awesome. They BOTH have their tendencies, and they are great when in either your jazz or rock frame of mind. I am just bummed to hear that Reed won't be at Las Tortugas.....he would have fun there!!!!

For those who don't like either of these bands need to keep quiet.

I went to the Cambridge show, and Mathis was indeed there.

Another thing that shoulda been mentioned is Club d'Elf's opening set. Don't know if they're playing together for the bulk of the dates, but they brought it on Tues.

Great show, great album, great time.

hey i had doubts about the lakeshore theater too because i've only seen a couple sit-down-and-blow-your-mind experimental concerts until pnuma trio and eliot lipp played there a few months ago (they had to switch venues cus the bar they were playing at had to deal with the city's anti-promoters bullshit), and it turned out to be a great little place to see a jam show; i heard a lot of kids saying 'nice venue' afterwards, it was a pleasant surprise and turned out to be a really fun show (i didn't have any problems with the sound in the venue either). it's mostly seated but there's enough floor up front for people to get their dance on. the lakeshore usually does comedy shows but i really think they should have more jam shows...
