JENNIE ARNAU 2008 SUMMER TOUR

Jennie Arnau
From a distance, Jennie Arnau sounds a lot like Kathleen Edwards. Both have mournful country vocals supported by muscular rock hooks. Up close, however, Arnau’s alt-country sound is less plaintive than Edwards and owes as much to Fleetwood Mac as it does to Emmylou Harris.

Sunday, June 8 kicked off Jennie Arnau’s 2008 Summer tour in support of her critically-acclaimed CD, Mt. Pleasant. Come see why Joe Levy at Rolling Stone raves about the CD “…She has a big voice and an even bigger heart. You’ll come to know both intimately in this, her most fully realized set of songs yet. If you care about the struggle for love and happiness – and who among us doesn’t? – this one’s for you.”

Arnau’s backing band includes Alan Lerner (Zen Tricksters) on drums, Pete Levin (Blind Boys of Alabama, God Street Wine) on keyboards, Rod Hohl (The Silos) on guitar and Skip Ward (Bela Fleck, Phoebe Snow) on bass.
