HIGH END PROG-POP QUARTET
REUNITES FOR FIRST NEW STUDIO ALBUM IN 25 YEARS

The original line-up of ’80s super group Asia – guitarist Steve Howe (Yes), drummer Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake and Palmer), singer-bassist John Wetton (King Crimson) and keyboardist Geoff Downes (Buggles, Yes) – have completed work on their first new studio album since 1983’s Alpha. While the quartet has toured on & off since reuniting in 2006, Phoenix (due in April on Frontier Records) is their first new original material in 25 years.

“What we set out to achieve way back then – timeless music that only sounds like the four who created it – is what we attempted to bring to Phoenix. Still, it remains contemporary and refreshing to us all. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the Asia story, and it remains the same today – so listen on, and enjoy,” says Downes.

The group’s live shows include material from the members diverse careers as well as their Asia collaborations, which some may recall spent almost nine weeks at Number One on the Billboard charts when the band debuted in 1982.
