^ you're an idiot. Drive By Truckers do not compare to REM or even Modest Mouse or The National. All these bands are top acts to see and having been a REM fan, I know their new live CD kicks ass and goes to show that they're long from washed up. I have seen both Modest Mouse and Drive By Truckers live and Modest Mouse makes them look like a fucking joke. These will be amazing shows and God bless REM for doing another tour.

too bad this is right after summercamp i'll be broke as hell... never heard the national and not a huge fan of either rem or modest mouse but i would be interested to see them both live, although all the live video i've seen of modest mouse was pretty terrible. really i'd just want to go in and hear shiny happy people and maybe radio song then i'd be out. i wonder what the crowd would be like at REM.. i predict either an elitist 30-something crowd with modern black frame glasses, or a really 90s hip crowd like combat boot style and stuff.

Rumor has it if you slow down the track playing speed, the album will clock in at well over an hour... Who makes a 34 minute CD these days? Hopefully they eliminated the filler songs for us.

you know REM was a pioneer in the 90s, and im going to have to agree with you JAWS, that dude is a effin idiot, i mean not even comparible to drive by, but hey what the hell thats why we all have opinions, i was hoping to catch REM @langerado but from lack of funds i doubt its going to happen, and if they add MMJ to lang. i will be pissed, im also going to agree with schofizzl about modest mouse live, i am HUGE modest mouse fan, missed my few chances to see them live, but i just dont think they can get the sound they perceive on stage as they can in the studio, but thats just like alot of my fave bands, i mean most of the jam bands i like i can not stand their studio work for ex. string cheese, and moe. but live they rock it...modest mouses studio work is something from another planet and i dig all of it

Wow! REM and Modest Mouse at the Hollywood Bowl should be quite an experience. That place has a well of history.
