Warren Haynes recently stopped by The Black Crowes co-founding member Steve Gorman’s Fox Sports radio program Steve Gorman SPORTS! where he sat for an interview. Haynes punctuated the appearance by performing his song, “Is It Me Or You,” the opening track from his collaborative album with Railroad Earth, Ashes & Dust.

Haynes talked with Gorman about recording the LP which comes out July 24 on Concord Records, as well as the time he struck out baseball great Cal Ripken Jr. Watch the solo acoustic performance of “Is It Me Or You” below:
As teased above, Haynes told Gorman “I had quite a little curveball for a 13-year-old” about his baseball skills. Warren detailed his story about pitching against a 12-year-old Ripken Jr. and the way Haynes likes to remember it -he struck out.
In other Warren-related news, the lineup for January’s Island Exodus destination event has been revealed. Island Exodus takes place January 15 -19 at Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Attendees will be treated to three, two-set shows from Gov’t Mule while Haynes will perform “solo” one night. John Scofield will head down to Jamaica to join Mule during two of their shows for their famed “Sco-Mule” collaboration. Jackie Greene & his band will also play Island Exodus and are on tap for three performances. Saxophonist Ron Holloway will return for his 6th Island Exodus, while Alecia Chakour (Warren Haynes Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Lettuce) will make her first appearance at the annual event come January.
