The San Francisco Giants will continue a yearly tradition by hosting a Jerry Garcia Tribute Night at AT&T Park on August 12. The Giants face off against the Chicago White Sox on the 12 and those who attend the tribute to the Grateful Dead vocalist/guitarist will be treated to “pre-game music and entertainment, featuring some of Jerry’s most famous hits throughout his illustrious career” by Moonalice. Those who purchase a special event ticket package will get a ticket to the game and a collector’s edition Jerry Garcia-themed Giants t-shirt. A portion of proceeds from every special event ticket sold will benefit The Rex Foundation.

There’s also VIP Triples Alley Packages. According to the Giants website, “Each VIP-ticket holder will receive admission to the Triples Alley Premium Location from 4:45-6:45 p.m., complimentary food and beverage (including beer and wine), a collectable Jerry Garcia-themed Giants t-shirt, AND a VIP-edition Jerry Garcia-themed Giants item, only available to ticketholders of this one-of-a-kind VIP offer.” The “VIP-edition Jerry Garcia-themed Giants item” appears to be a “Jerry Garcia/Giants Gnome.” Members of the Garcia family will mingle with VIP ticket holders at the pre-game party. This year’s event will be the fifth annual Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia Tribute Night hosted by the Giants.
