DJ Drastic X Shares Phish Vs. Hip-Hop Mashup

Hip-hop isn't exactly a genre that Phish has dabbled with much over the years outside of the Jay-Z sit-in at Brooklyn's Keyspan Park in June 2004 and a few one-off covers of songs like "Girls Girls Girls" and "Getting Jiggy With It." However the Vermonters' music can provide the foundation for raps as found on a new compilation. Miami's DJ Drastic X has unveiled a mashup tribute project that mixes sounds and vocals from Phish and hip-hop stars such as Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and The Notorious B.I.G..

The "years in the making" Phish Vs. Hip-Hop (Phish-Hop) compilation contains 21 tracks such as "Changes Won't Let Me Lie" which presents "Let Me Lie" as you've never heard it before with vocals from 2Pac and "David Bowie Flow" featuring the famed Phish song as the basis for raps from Kweli and Nas.

The entire compilation can be streamed below or downloaded via Audiomack:
