Last night Bob Weir, Jackie Greene and Steve Kimock teamed up with
members of RatDog for a private benefit show at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill
Valley, CA. The performance was a benefit for Mill Valley's Ring Mountain Day School.
Greene and Kimock kicked off the show with a five-song set that was heavy on Jackie
originals and also included a cover of Muddy Waters's "You Can't Lose What You Never Had."
Weir then treated the crowd to a solo performance before the evening came to a close with
a set that saw Bobby pair up with current RatDog members Kimock, Jay Lane and Robin
Sylvester as well as Greene. This "JackDog" set featured a mix of songs from the Grateful
Dead live repertoire and covers such as an instrumental take on Pink Floyd's "Another
Brick In The Wall (Part II) and a version of "Shakey Ground" by The Temptations that was
worked into the middle of the "Not Fade Away" encore.
In other RatDog news, the band has added a July 6 performance at Humphrey's By The Bay in
San Diego to their touring schedule. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday,
April 5 at 10 a.m. PT.
