We’re expecting a big year from Chris Robinson Brotherhood in 2014 since The Black Crowes will be on hiatus. Next Friday the group will release a quadruple-live album, Betty’s S.F. Blends, Volume One, on vinyl that will be up for sale at select indie record stores across the country. Famed Grateful Dead recording engineer Betty Cantor-Jackson curated the tracks which were laid down at the band’s Great American Music Hall shows in San Francisco from 2012.

Yesterday, American Songwriter premiered the version of “Train Robbers” which appears on Betty’s S.F. Blends, Volume One. Robinson first performed the song with his New Earth Mud ensemble, but it took on a different sound with the CRB. “‘Train Robbers’ is a song based on the old mythology of musician as outlaw, all the romance of said lifestyle in between,” Robinson told American Songwriter. Take a listen to “Train Robbers”:
