Warren Haynes Teams With Colorado Symphony At Red Rocks

Famed venue Red Rocks in Morrison, CO hosted the latest Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes last night. Haynes teamed up with the Colorado Symphony, bassist Lincoln Schleifer, drummer Jeff Sipe and vocalists Alecia Chakour and Jasmine Muhammad to deliver two sets filled with orchestral versions of Jerry Garcia’s finest songs.

Haynes, his backing band and the Colorado Symphony offered versions of classics such as “Bird Song,” “Standing On The Moon” and “Morning Dew” in the first set, while the second set saw the ensemble tackle “High Time,” “Uncle John’s Band” and “West L.A. Fadeaway” among other Garcia gems. For the encore, Warren led the assembled musicians through his own Garcia tribute, “Patchwork Quilt,” and the tender Garcia/Hunter ballad “China Doll.”
