Cover Alert | The Lumineers This Must Be The Place

Mountain Jam organizers continue to pump out highlights from last month’s fest to their YouTube Page at a rapid pace. One of the latest additions finds Denver-based band The Lumineers covering one of our favorite songs -“This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” by the Talking Heads.

The Lumineers regularly work covers into their sets and “This Must Be The Place” is one of the choices they lean on most along with Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and “The Weight” by The Band. Front man Wesley Schultz delivers a passionate reading of David Byrne’s lyrics, though he struggles for a second, while cellist Neyla Pekarek adds a new dimension to the song and Jeremiah Fraites provides a steady chug-a-lug beat.

UPDATE 8/19 8:30 a.m. PT: The Lumineers recorded a studio version of “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” that will be released as part of the deluxe edition of their self-titled album tomorrow:
