BETTS EXPECTS TO RETURN TO THE ROAD
IN JUNE ACCORDING TO HIS MANAGER

Earlier this month we told you about Dickey Betts & Great Southern’s plan to team up with Fabulous Thunderbirds , Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Beverly McClellan for a package tour called Rock The Blues Summer Jam. At that time we mentioned that Betts had canceled a number of April shows, but that the guitarist did plan to go on with his scheduled shows moving forward. Yesterday, Dickey’s manager – David Spero – provided an update on Betts’ health.

Here’s what Spero wrote on the Betts’ official website:

Dickey Betts wanted to let all of his fans know that he “greatly appreciates all your thoughts and prayers” while he went through his medical problems. He also said “and equally important, thanks for your patience and understanding. I’m getting stronger everyday and the doctor said I’ll be ready and able to start on the road again come June.” We will have some additional dates within the next weeks.

As of now, the next gigs on Betts’ schedule is a four-show swing in early June that will bring him to Plymouth, NH on the 7th, Stroudsburg, PA on the 8th and New York, NY on the 9th and 10th. The Rock The Blues Summer Jam shows haven’t been officially announced, but tickets for both the Port Chester, NY performance and the Huntington, NY show are currently on sale via Ticketmaster and TicketFly respectively.

We look forward to seeing what “additional dates” Betts and his band will announce soon.

Let’s watch Betts and Great Southern’s take on “Blue Sky.”
