The Soul Rebels: House Band for NFL Honors Super Bowl Event

“NFL Honors” will air from the Mahalia Jackson Theater in the Soul Rebels’ hometown of New Orleans. Award-winning actor Alec Baldwin returns as the host of the show. Current and former players such as Jim Brown, Dwight Clark, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders and Steve Young are scheduled to be in attendance as well as musical guest OneRepublic.
Kicking off the night will be “Super Bowl Saturday Night presented by XFINITY,” a red carpet show on NFL Network from 8 – 9 p.m. (ET) featuring the sights and sounds of Super Bowl week and many of the stars who will be celebrating the best of the NFL later that evening.
2012 was a breakout year for The Soul Rebels with the release of their debut major label album, a national tour with Galactic, and main stage appearances at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Electric Forest and other major festivals. The Soul Rebels shared the stage with Metallica, Green Day, Maceo Parker, Slick Rick, Suzanne Vega and David A. Stewart of the Eurythmics, as well as billings with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Estelle, Seal, Cee Lo Green, and Dr. John among others.
