I'm not crazy about Moe. but this is going to be a great venue. The article states that it's near some deserted rail-road tracks, which makes it seem like the venue is in a run-down, shady area. Not the case though. The Highline Ballroom is in Manhattan's Meatpacking District which is one of most expensive, swankiest and trendiest neighborhoods. All the bars, restaurants and clubs in the area are mainly frequented by models, celebrities, fshionistas, i'm curious to see what the scene'll be like on a night that a jamband such as Moe., or Umphreys, or whoever, comes down to play. Can't wait.

Alright i must admit i use to be a huge moe. fan back in 2002. But over the years not seeing them as much but still seeing them 10-15 times i decided to catch them playing the Rave in The MIL and i was the most bored i have ever been at a show. Now this is my opinion but they just don't seem to have what they used to. Just like Cheese back in 2000-2002. Somewhere along the lines they had something going and lost it. but seriously i was ready to leave the show after being there for 10 mins. And ive never felt that at any other show ever b4.

remember moe. back in 97 ,98, 99, 00, 01, then i thought moe went wrong somewhere, but saw them last year at summercamp, and they were smokin', cool light show too, also cheese never went wrong anywhere, can't really replace billy, about like replacing jerry, just can't do it, jerry could have just stood there and wait a minute towards the end he did just stand there, but he still had that glow, can't really replace that, haven't seen it since. closest thing is the boys playing or cheese onstage. like i said close, but not the same. miss you jerry. anybody out there go to the 97 furthur in denver, remember jerry's face in the clowds, while the wind was blowing about 20-30 miles an hour, sky was red, they were playing down the road. jerry's face didn't move, but the clouds around his face did. amazing. just get the chills thinking about it. fidlers green was the venue. he was giving his approval I guess. beautiful show

Thankfully they are nice people and it's long overdue that an theatre opens to compete with SHITHOLEs like the Starland Ballroom that lure bands away from the city to beat down and arrest our fans after they take our money. Good Job Moe. I can't wait to see Umphrey's there.

moe. and Page are playing New York, yea! There are no tickets available, boo! Reminicent of Phish in the later years playing Roseland and Radio City; tix were impossible unless you either got extremely lucky, had a connecttion or were willing to pay a scalper. I got spoiled with the Dead playing their Garden runs. Hopefully moe. and Page will either play more dates at small venues in New York or will also play a larger venue so all of their fans that enjoy seeing them live in their home town will have the opportunity to do so.

moe. at the Central Park Summer Stage last year was sweet. Furthermore,I'd love to see some jambands start to play The Westchester County Center, in White Plains , New York. Way back in the early 70's I've been told acts like Jimi Hendrix, CSN&Y, and Led Zeppelin all played there.

800 people isn't very much... i doubt moe. will be coming back to this place anytime soon, especially in NYC. I'm sure it's a really cool place, but if they can sell out bigger theaters all over the country? why would they play for 800 people? I can see younger bands like RAQ and AOD here, but not moe. anyways i'm sure they will be good shows

hey OOGIEBOOGIE... it's real easy to understand. they have horrible vocals and lyrics, and despite totally jamming and reaching that "level" from time to time (which I love), tend to be waaaayy to poppy. My music's got to have some freaky ass soul! see: MMJ, WSP, MMW, et. al
it's really not that hard to understand...

the venue should be nice, i read that the highline train tracks are being converted into a raised park trail with trees and grass, it should be a nice park trial for a city.

In exchange, all I want is to see you in a straight-jacket in the middle of a groovin' moe. or cheese dance floor, so we can boogie silly round your crazy ass. Enjoy the show!

I have to sort of agree with AJohnson. Now i wasn't able to see the dead but saw enough Phish. But their really aren't any bands out their that can do the things they did. And the thing i don't like about moe. is i don't need to sit their and listen to a 35 minute song. Thats just ridiculous. Cheese to. They played Summerfest in Milw. and that was another show that was absolutely boring. And like i said in my earlier comment back 5 years ago i was singing adifferent tune about both bands but over the years have come to realize that it was probably all the extra things i did that made it sound so much better. Anyways the scene is going more electronic and i wish their were more funky bands out their. I don't think to many people know about funk. The Newmastersounds thats funk. and fuckit anyways. everyone likes what they like. Everything in life is subjective. We are all going to have different opinions about what we like and what we dislike. If you want to go and see moe. and cheese then doi it but ill pass!

AJohnson you're a total douche man, obviously you're not a musician, if you were you would not be saying those ignorant things. SCI is one of the best bands out there rightnow, and it really pains me that they're breakingup....Nershi is a fantastic songwriter/guitarist...Kang is an incredible Mandolin/Fiddle player, and also a great songwriter...Travis is such a ridiculous percussive machine I can't even believe what I see/hear; set & percussion at the same time!.....Hollingsworth is easlily one the best keyboardists out there as well as another great songwriter...and Mosely, although commonly getting a bad rep, really fuses it together and also writes some great tunes. And moe. has great vocals in particular, very well placed backups. You're entirely entitled to your opinion, but if you don't like it just don't listen to it or go see it, it's as easy as that. It's people like you who ruin this website, just keep it to yourself and post something positive about something you do like.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but some of you people are so fucking ignorant!! Phish is through, Jerry Garcia is dead, and yes many of the better jam bands have faded away, and different sounding jam bands are becoming more popular. Get over it! But to bash groups like moe. and SCI is absolutely outrageous. NO, they aren't Phish, The Dead, etc, but moe. and SCI are exremely talented! Your negativity is ruining the positive aspects of this site! Heres a site you idiots might enjoy a little more....

Ajohnson, I grew up when the Dead and Phish were touring too. We were lucky; don't know if any modern bands can equal their intensity and musicianship, however, moe. is a strong band. Fishman, Mike, and Dicky Betts have sat in with them; guess they think they're alright. Stay home, there wil be more tix for the rest of us.

I just saw an unbelievable band: "The Ajohnson Experience". They were better than anything I've ever seen. Ajohnson played a gut bustin' bass solo then went on a rant about how great he plays. Then there was this totally kickass expletive laced rant on how terrible the popular bands of the day are. Actually it wasn't a band; it was just the "A-man". Rumor has it that he's such a douchey douche that no one will play with him.
