Virginia Beach based band “Woodwork” first started whittling away at the Hampton Roads music scene in April of 2008. The band’s mix of funk, island, and psychedelic jam styles in combination with Kyle Folsom’s majestically hand crafted lyrics quickly garnered the group an enthusiastic local following. After a brief relocation to Burlington, Vermont and a few personnel changes, Woodwork concluded 2012 with a solid new lineup. Featuring founding members Kyle Folsom on lead vocal and guitar, and James Dale on drums and backing vocals, as well as new comers Cory Potrafka (Jackass Flats, The Electric Fuzz Band) on keys, and McGregor Hood (Buddhist Lingerie, Last Fair Deal) on bass, Woodwork continues to develop their unique sound and are ready to spring it upon the unsuspecting masses. This four-piece ensemble is an absolute mess of cohesion and inspiration! Original lyrics and their ever evolving, psycha-coalescent jams keep happy music-goers coming back, repeatedly, to have their wood worked! Phish, The Grateful Dead, and Moe are just a few of the obvious influences one may tune into when attending a Woodworking session.
2013 will prove to be a very successful year for the band. They are scheduled at festivals and venues from Baltimore to the Outer Banks with many more dates sure to come! Expect to see Woodwork this year at Camp Barefoot as they have signed with IUF management under Stan Lee Ventures, LLC who happen to produce the festival. Check the band’s schedule for a bevy of upcoming shows near you!
