About Universal Sigh
Formed in the fall of 2012, Universal Sigh is a unique band comprised of Steve Terry, Austin Parker, and brothers Pace & Jones Maynard. They have found a niche in the vibrant music scene of Athens, GA by establishing a close-knit community of friends and fellow musicians. Music is full of limitless possibilities and US seeks adventure through deliberate improvisation to create a high-energy rock show. The band features a two guitar attack anchored by a driving rhythm section and is deeply inspired by bands such as Umphrey’s McGee, Led Zeppelin, and Radiohead. Fearless of exploring uncharted musical territories, their music can be loosely defined as “progressive jazz-funk”. The mergence of genres creates a fluid sound generating a friendly atmosphere welcoming all music lovers alike.
