About Tony Mason
Drummer Tony Mason grew up in SouthernPines, North Carolina. Tony started playing at age 7 and it’s been drums and music ever since. After studying at East Carolina for one year, Tony came to NYC in 1986 to finish his education at The Manhattan School Of Music where he received a perfomance degree in classical percussion. Tony was also very active in the jazz program. Tony has toured and recorded with Joan Osborne, Martha Wainwright, Norah Jones, Bernie Worrell, Cyril Neville, Doug Wimbish, Leo Nocentelli, George Porter Jr., Chiara Civello, Bo Diddley, SoupDragons, Holly Palmer, Neil Sedaka, Connie Francis, Natalie Cole, Paula Cole, Charlie Hunter, Captain and Teneille, David Foster, Baba Olatunji, Willie Weeks, Ivan Neville, Jared Tyler, Michael McDermott, Melvin Sparks, Jim Campilongo, Juliana Nash, Clark Gayton, Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout, Bill Sims Jr., Bloomdaddies, Gabe Gordon, and many others. Producers Tony has worked with include Nile Rodgers, Camu Celli, Ron St.Jermaine, and the Legendary Russ Titleman. Tony has also played on many commercials for Nike, Vila, Coca-Cola, NBA, WNBA,and yes, Viagra! TV appearances include Dave Letterman, PBS American Love Story, Craig Kilborn, and The View.
