About The Scene Aesthetic
The Scene Aesthetic is an American two-piece acoustic/indie pop band based in Seattle, Washington, featuring Andrew de Torres of Danger Radio and Eric Bowley. The band gained recognition through MySpace after posting their first songs, specifically their popular first single, “Beauty in the Breakdown”. They have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Rolling Stone Magazine. They have toured throughout the United States with various acts such as Never Shout Never, Lydia, The Ready Set, Danger Radio. They recently toured the UK with Joe Brooks, and are currently touring with Owl City and Brooke Waggoner. The Scene Aesthetic compiled their demo songs from MySpace onto their 2006 debut release, Building Homes from What We’ve Known. Their self-titled second album, featuring generally the same track list with a few additional songs, was released in 2007. Bowley served as an LDS missionary in Rosario, Argentina, and returned on December 20, 2008. They are planning a compilation of B-Sides which will include acoustic versions of the full band songs that appeared on their previous records and a collection of remixes. It is rumored to be released under the title Play, Stop, Rewind, Repeat. Two new songs have been released for listening on their MySpace page. Both de Torres and Bowley wrote and recorded a new album with producer Marshall Altman. It is expected to release in late 2009, and will consist primarily of full band tracks.
