About The Hudsons
Based in Austin, The Hudsons (Hudson Mueller – vox/guit, Brian Hudson – vox/guit, Phoebe Hunt – vox/fiddle, Jason Vopni – bass) are the self-proclaimed hardest working band in Texas, working diligently on their third album, and forever writing and arranging new music. Though their grass-roots success in Texas has come about naturally, the Hudsons credit their dedication to music and the community that supports it.
The Hudsons sound is constantly evolving and always difficult to pigeonhole. Two acoustic guitars, a fiddle, an upright bass, and three singers describe a traditional folk set-up, but this is no traditional folk show. Some say its bluegrass, some say its party music, some say its just damn good music – the Hudsons describe their music as folk-rock. The Hudsons are delivering a hot-pickin-high-energy show laced with ballads and beautiful three-part harmonies. And having played over 1000 shows together, from the intimate setting of the historic Cactus Café to the packed pews of the Bass Concert Hall, they handle the stage, despite their years, like old pros.
