About Swift Creek
Swift Creeks name pays tribute to the origins of this Americana band, formed five years ago in Central NC. Their highly original songs feature strong traditional and progressive bluegrass influences, a touch of gospel and a healthy dose of folk. Driving guitars and bass support the bands signature three-part harmony singing which is punctuated with some jaw-dropping mandolin and guitar solos.
The lineup is Kevin Brown, whose strong tenor leads, rhythm guitar and songwriting frame the bands sound; Casey Elder, expertly playing the mandolin and dobro; Dan Smith, rocker- turned-Americana lead guitarist and baritone singer; Ashley Kovacs tearing it up on fiddle; bassist Dennis Hoyle setting the beat; and vocalist Ann Searcy, adding bluesy leads and spot-on harmony singing.
Swift Creeks debut CD Winner Winner Chicken Dinner was produced at The Rubber Room in Chapel Hill, NC and released in August 2012.
