SLUG plays american/roots rock. Mixing elements of rock-n-roll, blues, country & bluegrass into their own particular style of music. The band plays mostly original music and also includes in their repertoire The Dead, Dylan, Little Feat, traditional blues, actually too many bands to list here!
In the tradition of the Grateful Dead, SLUG began 13 years ago. Steve “Fletch” Fletcher, Bob Moore, Joe Trisolino are the founding three members. They have played extensively around NY State and have a large following. Slug played moe.down in ’02. SLUG w/ Lindsay Dombeck have one official studio album Titled “Hippies, Monsters, Mimes & Lawyers”. The album featured guest appearances by Moe’s Al Schnier as well as Jason Barady of Floodwood & was favorably reviewed by, among others, Grateful Dead publicist & Author Dennis McNalley. Who praised the originality and uniqueness of the band’s sound as well as the “top notch songwriting”. The band is currently in the studio working on a new record due to be released in April 2013 titled “Rescued from the Glue Farm”. This album is turning out to be the truest to the live essence of SLUG. Raw,… No Bells, Horns or Whistles!!!
SLUG is comprised of Steve Fletcher, Bob Moore, Genesee Joe Trisolino, Chris Andreski, Chris Dunn & Mike Finley. Finley as keyboardist, an instrument never before in the bands line-up. The current line-up is considered the strongest, tightest & best of any incarnation.
