About Seth Winters
I recently moved to Atlanta from New York to start my band with drummer Ben Jaffe and bassist Steve Mays.
We are a power trio plus a singer,Scott Ivey, playing original songs heavily influenced by Govt Mule, the Allman Brothers, Jackson Browne and Paul Simon, among others.
I hope you enjoy my songs. I have three for you to download. The first, Orange County in the 80s, is about a guy whos addicted to 80 mg. oxycontin, which he calls Orange County 80s. The second, “Something To Hold” is about getting over personal obsessions. The third song “Nothing Left to Say”is the first song I ever wrote back when I was 17. The last song, “Beauty Unbound”is about a conversation with an old hippie.
A long time ago, before I got cancer, I was a regular fixture on the New York City club scene. Starting when I was 13 (Im 22 now) I used to play all the time at Mannys Car Wash (RIP). Thats where I played with blues legend Matt Guitar Murphy (The Blues Brothers) the young slide phenom Derek Trucks (I was even younger) and Jimmy Vivino (The Conan OBrien Show). I used to play at another New York Club, Chicago Blues (RIP) with my band and with the touring bluesmen who would stop in and let a kid jam with them.
Then I moved on to New Yorks legendary Wetlands Preserve (RIP). This was my home away from home until it closed down. I played there a few times with my band, and had many memorable nights playing with Warren Haynes, Merl Saunders, Derek Trucks, Jimmy Herring, Oteil Burbridge, Allen Woody, Bernie Worrell, Deep Banana Blackout, Rob Wasserman, Illuminati and lots of other great musicians. Then it was on to another New York City Club, Tobacco Road (RIP). We ripped that place up, and then they tore it down.
So, now Im in Atlanta with my new band. I hope you enjoy the music.
