About Nancy Whang
Name: Nancy Whang
Occupation: DJ: Band member: keyboard player for LCD Soundsystem, vocalist for the Juan MacLean.
Home base: Brooklyn, N.Y.
Music venue: Barrowlands in Glasgow.
Favorite concert: Most memorable concert ever attended was Nu Shooz in the parking lot of Beaverton Mall, Ore. in 1980-something. Billy Bragg at Big Day Out last year was moving. The favorite show I ever played was at Coachella with LCD Soundsystem the second time.
Music: Thee Oh Sees from San Francisco. I listen to Heaven or Las Vegas by the Cocteau Twins and Arthur Russells World of Echo every time I go running, but mostly because theyre whats on my iPod Shuffle and I havent been bothered to change it.
Drink: Pimms Cup when its warm; red wine when its not.
Party central: Any dinner table surrounded by friends.
Momentary style obsessions: Jumpsuits. Im also tirelessly searching for a 1980s Bianchi Sport SX road bike small enough for me to ride. (I need a 42 or 43, in case anyone has any leads.)
Currently Touring with LCD Soundsystem / The Juan Maclean and available for DJ performances.
