About Lacuna Coil
There is no better indication that greatness can be achieved through a resilient work ethic than Lacuna Coil, whose aggressive touring and extensive critical praise have now poised them for mainstream domination. The group initially left their mark on the hard rock scene in 2004 with their acclaimed album, Comalies, which opened several opportunities for them that were previously thought unattainable for an Italian band, such as two highly successful commercial radio campaigns alongside a breakthrough Ozzfest appearance resulting in over 500,000 copies sold worldwide with a quarter of a million in the U.S. alone. Now, Lacuna Coil returns with their highly anticipated new album, Karmacode, which is another huge step forward in the bands continuous evolution. It has been years since an artist came along that could redefine a genre, but this group has the potential to do just that. This is the next big thing.
LACUNA COIL just embarked on a U.S. tour as direct support to In Flames with The Sword and Seemless in the support slots. The group recently completed a highly successful run on the annual Blackest of the Black tour alongside the legendary Danzig, labelmates The Haunted, Belphegor and Asesino. This is their groups third U.S. run in support of Karmacode, their highly praised new album; it wraps up a highly successful year with numerous highlights such as a main stage Ozzfest slot, a sold-out tour with Rob Zombie, a performance on ABC-TVs Jimmy Kimmel Live and a Top 30 Active Rock hit single, Our Truth.
This tour also coincided with the launch of the groups new single for Closer, the third single from Karmacode. The radio mix and edit of Closer was done by Brian Malouf (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Pearl Jam), and the captivating video for the track, completed by the directorial team Fort Awesome (who also shot the groups acclaimed Our Truth clip).
Look for Lacuna Coil to add another exhilerating chapter to their already storied career throughout 2007 as this Italian sensation continues its undying quest to become one of the world’s most revered rock acts.
