Jimmy Rankin is an award-winning solo artist and the lead singer, guitarist and songwriting lynchpin behind multi-platinum Celtic-Pop heroes, The Rankin Family. A dynamic live performer with an impressive catalog of hits, Jimmy moves effortlessly between Roots, Country and Pop stylings, taking his audience on an unforgettable musical journey from Cape Breton to Nashville, and back again.

Fresh off the heels of a successful Canadian Christmas tour in support of his holiday themed album Tinsel Town, Jimmy is currently preparing for the release of his 6th full-length album, Backroad Paradise in the spring of 2014. The albums first single Cool Car will be released to radio and video to CMT in February 2014. Backroad Paradise was produced by Bill Bell (Jason Mraz, Tom Cochrane) and features 12 brand new original songs co-written by Jimmy with some of the best songwriters in Canada and Nashville.
Jimmys iconic Canadian voice, riveting live show, and award-winning songwriting have earned him a host of accolades including back-to-back Canadian Country Music Award wins for Roots Artist of the Year (2012, 2013), a 2012 Juno nomination for Country Recording of the Year, and most recently the #1 spot in CBCs Top Ten East Coast Song of All Time for his hit single Fare Thee Well Love.
