About Jake Allen
Jake Allen is a dynamic musician and songwriter from Grayling, Michigan and currently living in Phoenix, AZ. His music is complex yet accessible. It’s something he calls “progressive ethereal rock.” Comparing Allen to other bands is rather hard to do. The music is simply one of a kind.
While touring solo, Jake’s unique acoustic style of using both hands on the fret board and alternatively slapping the guitar for percussive effects has wowed audiences in venues throughout his nationwide tours.
While touring with the full Jake Allen Band, the level of musicianship, talent and energy on display from the four members has stopped listeners in their tracks.
Jake’s skills, vocals and years of experience in recording and touring belie the fact that this musician is only 22 years old. He started writing and recording music as young as 9 years old, and at 18 signed with the indie label Dharma Records and subsequently released his first album, “Heart Consumer and the Artist”. A year later came his sophomore album, “SleEP”, A brilliant compellation that, in addition to showcasing his songwriting and vocal talents, put Jake’s finger-style and two-handed percussive guitar playing abilities on full display. In addition to guitar, he performs on keyboards, bass, drums, harp, and any other instrument he can get his hands on. Jake writes and composes all songs and performs all of the instruments on his albums. Jake is currently touring in promotion of his new critically acclaimed album, “Etherica”, which was released in early 2011.
