About Hot Pink Delorean
Hot Pink Delorean was formed in October of 2007 when Chris Barlow, Jon Spero and Matt Simmers of the drum & bass act Terravita decided to make a few electro tunes with their friend Taylor Jordan aka Fantastadon. This was right in the middle of the “blog house” craze of the late 2000s and after being posted on the Discodust blog Hot Pink Delorean started receiving major attention. Fast forward back to the future and the group has since remixed artists like Britney Spears, Beyonce, Natasha Bedingfield, Pixie Lott, Just Jack, Basshunter and a long list of underground talent like DJ Fresh, Sigma, Dresden, The Rogue Element, Gamble & Burke, Steed Lord, Designer Drugs and The Qemists. Hot Pink Delorean has toured to the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria and Poland and played to tens of thousands of fans.
In 2009, Hot Pink Delorean released their “I Am What Porno Should Be” EPs (parts 1 and 2) to rave reviews receiving play on BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM in the UK and all over XM and Sirius radio. Songs off the EPs had support from artists like Tiesto, Carl Cox, Benny Benassi, MYLO, Jaymo & Andy George, Digitalism, Adam Freeland, Donald Glaude, Richard Vision, Steve Porter, Craze, Klever, and many many more. The track “Party Favour” off of the EPs, with the group’s friend, Fantastadon, was also featured on Kissy Sell Out’s cover mount mix CD for Mixmag in December of 2009.
The band released the “Party Favour” EP on Pieces of Eight in April of 2010. The release went on to chart in the top 20 in the Cool Cuts and DMC charts. Shortly following the success of that release was the release of HPD’s collaboration with Mustard Pimp entitled “Rock” on Dim Mak. In August of 2010 HPD released the track “Bee Eff Eff” on Donald Glaude’s Records along with a remix of it by Lazy Rich which hit the top 20 on Beatport’s electro chart. The band also collaborated with Dresden & Johnson on the tune Metaphonix, released on Problem Child Rekords. At the end of the year HPD’s remix of Gamble & Burke’s “Let’s go Together” released on Kitsune and became a staple in Tiesto’s DJ sets, just before the group’s remix of Fresh & Sigmas tune “Lassitude” released on Breakbeat Kaos.
Hot Pink Delorean started 2011 off with a bang by releasing the “Club Crashers” EP on Overthrow Music Authority. The title track not only charted heavily on the Beatport electro charts, but broke the overall top 10 on Trackitdown and hit #3 on Trackitdown’s house charts. To top it all off the “Club Crashers” video, sponsored by Karmaloop and Skeetv, received over 100,000 views.
HPD followed up Club Crashers with “My Favourite”, the first release off of HPD’s forth coming LP, on their own imprint Delorean Music Company. The release was heavily supported by Tiesto, Kissy Sell Out and more. The second release off the forthcoming LP “Watch the Sunrise” b/w “Blew Steal” charted on Beatport and Trackitdown and hit the top 20 on the DMC buzz charts. The third release off of the LP “Move It ft. Rory Lyons” charted in the top 20 on Beatport’s electro charts and came in at #9 on Musicweek’s dance chart. The 4th release from the LP “Rhythm From Mars” is already receiving play on the radio in over 10 countries, in clubs through out the world and from Djs like Kissy Sell Out, Erick Morillo, Hoxton Whores, Plump Djs, Seb Fontaine, Cicada, Stonebridge, Reset, Mixhell, the Squatters, Donald Glaude, Charles Feelgood, Le Castle Vania and more, so it is gearing up to be the biggest release yet!
