Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin, Texas born producer/composer Shane O Madden. He began studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study at the University of Texas School fo Music.
It was O Maddens pursuit of his gypsy roots that opened his ears to the World Music scene. During his search, he found a particular affinity for the Middle-Eastern, Indian, Celtic and southern Spanish musical cultures. Inspired by his passion for urban psychedelia, he combines these diverse styles of music with the beats and sounds of modern electronic music
