ZZ Top Welcomes Robert Randolph In Boston

By Scott Bernstein Aug 30, 2016 11:01 am PDT

On Sunday night Robert Randolph & The Family Band opened for legendary rockers ZZ Top at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston. The evening came to a close with ZZ Top welcoming sacred steel specialist Robert Randolph out for a guest spot.

ZZ Top’s set in Boston was chock full of their most beloved songs including “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” “Rough Boy,” “Cheap Sunglasses” and “Sharp Dressed Man.” The trio then returned for an encore of “La Grange” and “Tush.” Just when fans thought the concert was over, the Texas rockers came out for a second encore. This time, Robert Randolph was with them. Randolph and ZZ Top teamed up for a cover of Elvis Presley’s Leiber/Stoller hit “Jailhouse Rock.”

Sunday’s sit-in reprised a guest spot earlier in the month. Watch Robert Randolph pair up with ZZ Top on “Jailhouse Rock” at Rose Music Center in Ohio as captured by Sassys Design:
