Yusuf/Cat Stevens Officially Cancels North American Book Tour

Yusuf / Cat Stevens will no longer tour North America in support of his recently released Cat On The Road To Findout memoir. “Befuddling” visa issues have led the legendary English singer-songwriter to cancel the run, which was previously postponed.

A statement issued today (Thursday, December 4) by Yusuf/Cat Stevens reads:

Unfortunately, my North American Book Tour is officially cancelled.

Unpredictably, and befuddling to us all, the actual visa finally got delivered after the last scheduled date of the tour had passed.

I know how disappointing this must be for those of you who were looking forward to the book tour. My agent and team explored every possible avenue, but it was all beyond our control.

I’m grateful for your patience and your support and I hope something new may be put together in the future, in better and brighter circumstances. Peace and love, always.

Cat On The Road To Findout arrived on October 7 after the September release of On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits, Stevens’ first-ever career spanning collection of music. Yusuf/Cat Stevens was set to bring “Cat On The Road To Findout – An Evening Of Tales, Tunes and Other Mysteries” to various cities in the U.S. and Canada from October 2 – 21.

The trek was postponed on September 29 after he was unable to secure a visa to enter the United States. “Waiting months for visa approvals, we held out as long as we could. However, at this point, the production logistics necessary for my show cannot be arranged in time,” Stevens wrote at the time.

Fans who purchased tickets for the North American shows via Ticketmaster will be automatically issued full refunds. Those who bought tickets on the secondary market are urged to contact the original buyer where possible.
