Colorado jamgrass act Yonder Mountain String Band paid tribute to Ween for their 2016 Halloween show, which took place in Chicago on October 29. The five-piece has added a number of the Ween covers they played to their repertoire since and recently shared video of the group rehearsing one of the tunes.

“I’m Holding You” opens Ween’s 1996’s album 12 Golden Country Greats and immediately warns listeners the LP is vastly different than any of the group’s previous efforts. Ween has only played the song live a total of 16 times, with most taking place during the 12 Golden Country Greats Tour. The last time Ween performed “I’m Holding You” was way back on November 27, 2007.

With instrumentation that includes acoustic guitar and fiddle, “I’m Holding You” is right in Yonder’s wheelhouse. The group debuted their cover of the tune as part of the Ween tribute in Chicago and played “I’m Holding You” once again on December 30 at the Boulder Theater. YMSB unveiled rehearsal video that just might be from Boulder on Facebook as we get to see the group working out their rendition. Take a look:
