On Saturday, Yonder Mountain String Band hosted a home state triple bill at Red Rocks Amphitheatre alongside Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers and veteran New Orleans brass ensemble Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The night began with a set from the NOLA legends, followed by a DBT performance that featured “Ramon Casiano,” “Surrender Under Protest” and “What It Means” from their upcoming new LP ‘American Band’ alongside career-spanning favorites like “Aftermath USA.”

YMSB welcomed members of Preservation Hall to help out on a cover of “Son Of A Preacher Man” during their headlining set that opened with “Casualty” > “Pockets” > “Casualty.” The set also included a closing sequence of “Rambler’s Anthem” > “Kentucky Mandolin” > “Rambler’s Anthem.” For the encore Yonder capped the evening on the rocks with a cover of “Girlfriend Is Better” by Talking Heads.
