Late last month Yonder Mountain String Band brought their Winter Tour to The National in Richmond, Virginia. The band filmed a cover of “I Second That Emotion” at the venue’s greenroom and have shared video of the performance.
Smokey Robinson and Al Cleveland wrote “I Second That Emotion” which Smokey Robinson & The Miracles first released as a single in 1967. Fellow Motown label mates Diana Ross & The Supremes also scored a hit with the song in 1969. Yonder Mountain String Band are joined by Jay Starling on resonator guitar for their take on “Second That Emotion.” Take a look at the “Greenroom Session” which was shared on YMSB’s YouTube channel earlier today:
Tonight, the five-piece continues Winter Tour at Charleston’s Music Farm.
