Yo La Tengo have thrown their support behind the Democratic U.S. presidential ticket made up of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The trio will perform a series of intimate acoustic house shows in exchange for a “sizable donation” to the Harris/Walz campaign.
Yo La Tengo did not specify what qualifies as a “sizable donation.” Those interested in hosting the trio consisting of Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew can submit a proposal through the band’s official website.

According to the band’s announcement:
“Bring us to your backyard for a quiet get-together with your closest friends! Book us in your living room, basement, barn, or local VFW hall for an audience of people you’ve never met in your life! …
“Proposals will be sorted and prioritized privately by us based on the amount of your intended contribution, your location, and our availability. These shows will be private with no filming allowed. So long as we’re not performing, you can photograph to your heart’s content. The audience will be at the discretion of the bidder.”
Additional details and logistics will be left to the discretion of the winning bidder(s). The band noted a preference for proposed intimate concerts to coincide with their upcoming tour dates.
