Yo La Tengo previewed their forthcoming Sleepless Night EP by unveiling the track “Bleeding.” Sleepless Night is set for release on October 9 via Matador Records.
“Bleeding” is the lone original on the six-track EP. Sleepless Night also features covers of songs by The Delmore Brothers, Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Ronnie Lane and The Flying Machine. The trio consisting of Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew wrote “Bleeding” together with McNew handling recording duties in Hoboken.

Yo La Tengo collaborated with Japanese artist and longtime fan Yoshitomo Nara on the song choices for the Los Angeles County Museum Of Art’s exhibition Yoshitomo Nara. A “Matador Version” of Sleepless Night featuring original cover art by Nara as well as a drawing of the band sketched by Hubley and an illustration by McNew is available for pre-order as a single-sided 12-inch vinyl.
