Rising Americana/country artist Wyatt Flores recently took the Tiny Desk Concert stage. Backed by his band, Flores performed songs from his debut LP, Welcome To The Plains.

Welcome To The Plains arrived on October 18. That same day Flores performed Welcome To The Plains’ “Oh Susannah” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The Oklahoma native was also nominated for Emerging Act of the Year at the 2024 Americana Music Honors & Awards.

Flores now clocks another milestone with an appearance on the acclaimed Tiny Desk Concert. Wyatt and his band — Austin Yankunas (acoustic guitar), Clem Braden (upright piano, mandolin), Jake Lynn (drums), Bill Peters (bass guitar) and Kenzie Miracle (fiddle) — opened up the set with the title track from Welcome To The Plains.

The four-song Tiny Desk session also saw Flores and company on Welcome To The Plains’ “When I Die,” deep cut “Little Town” and the aforementioned “Oh Susannah” to close. Read an excerpt from Felix Contreras’ recap of the set below:

I don’t know about you, but I find it very difficult — if not impossible — to not be captivated by his anthemic singalongs that feature a voice dripping with a twang that was made for storytelling.
