WIDESPREAD PANIC ANNOUNCE 3RD ANNUAL TUNES FOR TOTS SHOW
DECEMBER 29 AT THE ROXY INATLANTA
All Proceeds to Directly Benefit Georgia Public School Music Programs

Widespread Panic
Widespread Panic is pleased to announce their third annual Tunes for Tots charity event which will take place on December 29 at the Roxy Theatre in Atlanta. All proceeds from the show will directly go to benefit music departments in Georgia area public schools. Tickets are $125 for the show, with a limited number of $500 VIP tickets which will include a pre-show cocktail party with the band. Last year’s Tunes for Tots charity concert raised $130,000 to directly support music education in Georgia area schools, topping 2005’s $100,000.

Panic founded Tunes for Tots charity to support their belief that art education, and in particular music education, is integral in the overall education and advancement of children Art allows for personal expression, appreciation of ideas, celebration of cultural awareness, sharing emotions, and gives purpose to life. Widespread Panic agrees with research findings that art education supports more traditional academic subjects as well as being a worthy pursuit in its own right. With educational budgets often lacking in funds for music and the expensive cost of good instruments, Widespread Panic is pleased to be able to give back and support the continuance of music in schools. Proceeds from 2006 bought musical instruments for students at Trion Middle/High Schools in Trion, GA and Eagle’s Landing High School in McDonough, GA.

Tickets for Tunes for Tots can be purchased through Ticketmaster on 11/30 at 10 a.m. Tickets are also on sale for Panic’s 7th annual New Year’s shows (their 15 & 16 sell-out performance) at Philips Arena in Atlanta on 12/30 & 12/31 also through Ticketmaster. All tickets available here.

Panic will release their tenth studio album Free Somehow on January 29, 2008. This year Sony released a Choice Cuts CD featuring a hand picked selection of classic tunes from Panic’s formative years on Capricorn records. Widespread Panic was also honored to contribute the John Lennon song “Crippled Inside” for the Instant Karma: The Campaign to Save Darfur CD, currently out on Warner Bros. Records in conjunction with Amnesty International.
